Islamabad, April 29, 2026: Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Nazir Ahmed Butt, on Wednesday said that the Interpol has issued red notices for property tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz Malik at the request of Pakistan’s anti-corruption watchdog.

Briefing the media, the NAB chairman revealed that investigations involving more than Rs900 billion against Malik Riaz had been completed, marking a significant development in high-profile accountability proceedings.

NAB Director General Operations Amjad Majeed Aulakh said the bureau recovered Rs89 billion over the past year and is currently pursuing 37 major money laundering cases.

He added that courts had closed four money laundering cases, while 289 references, 205 investigations, and 745 inquiries remain pending across the country.

Providing further details, Aulakh said NAB received 8,563 complaints between January and March this year, of which 8,214 had been disposed of, while 475 are still under process.

NAB officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing into several housing and development projects, including Bahria Town.

Authorities have also recovered land in various parts of Sindh, including Malir, Korangi, and Clifton, along with properties linked to Gul Ahmed Mills. In Punjab, more than 900,000 acres of land have reportedly been retrieved.

A provincial-level task force has been established to safeguard recovered state land and prevent further encroachments.

The NAB chairman said investigations in the Bahria Town Karachi case have included the questioning of several politicians, adding that cases against multiple parliamentarians are currently underway.

He further noted that some cases involving lawmakers have been transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other departments for further action.
