Islamabad, May 13, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar addressed the launch ceremony of the IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters as the keynote speaker, highlighting the government’s vision to transform Pakistan into a regional hub for digital innovation and technology.
During his address, Ishaq Dar underscored Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of positioning Pakistan as a leading centre for digital growth and innovation in the region.
He emphasized Pakistan’s vast potential in the information technology sector, pointing to the country’s youthful talent, expanding digital economy and growing opportunities under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor 2.0. He noted that the initiative is evolving from a focus on physical infrastructure towards intelligent infrastructure, digital connectivity, artificial intelligence, ICT and innovation ecosystems.
The foreign minister reaffirmed the strength of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership, describing it as a longstanding and trusted relationship now entering a new era of digital and economic cooperation with China.
He said the launch of the IBI Digital Economy Headquarters represents another milestone in Pak-China friendship and reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s future as a destination for technology, investment and digital transformation.
