Islamabad, May 14: Azerbaijan’s Justice Minister Farid Turab Oglu Ahmadov called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Thursday to discuss bilateral cooperation and legal collaboration between the two countries.
The prime minister was accompanied during the meeting by Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the visiting dignitary and reaffirmed that Pakistan and Azerbaijan share brotherly relations that continue to strengthen with time.
The prime minister also conveyed his warm greetings to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and fondly recalled their recent telephone conversation held earlier this week.
Justice Minister Farid Ahmadov thanked the prime minister for the warm hospitality extended to him and briefed him on the ongoing legal and judicial cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
According to the discussion, both countries are actively working to strengthen mutual legal assistance mechanisms and enhance the capacity-building of their judicial systems under existing bilateral cooperation frameworks.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the progress made by both sides and expressed his desire to meet President Ilham Aliyev soon to further advance the strong bilateral partnership across multiple sectors.
