Thai envoy welcomes young diplomats, highlights role of youth in future diplomacy

Islamabad, May 15, 2026: The Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad welcomed 16 aspiring students and young professionals participating in the 7th International Young Diplomat School 2026 organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies.

During the interaction, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan Rongvudhi Virabutr held a dialogue session with the participants focusing on diplomacy, youth engagement, and the evolving role of young diplomats in international relations.

The ambassador emphasized the importance of analytical abilities, negotiation techniques, and interpersonal communication skills as essential qualities for successful diplomats.

Sharing his experiences and insights, Ambassador Virabutr also highlighted the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the embassy throughout the year to further strengthen Thailand-Pakistan relations through cultural, diplomatic, and public engagement activities aimed at creating “smiles” for the people of Pakistan.

He underscored the leading role of the younger generation in shaping the future and encouraged participants to actively contribute toward building stronger international understanding and cooperation.

The participants were also given a brief tour of the embassy chancery as part of the engagement session.
