Islamabad, May 18, 2026: A delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, led by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh, met Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division in Islamabad to discuss budget proposals and key concerns of the business community.

The delegation included FPCCI Senior Vice President Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, Vice Presidents Tariq Jadoon, Asif Sakhi and Aman Paracha, Chairman FPCCI Policy Advisory Board Mian Zahid Hussain, Chairman Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association Umer Rehan Sheikh, former FPCCI President Ghazanfar Bilour and other business representatives.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted several issues being faced by the business community, including concerns related to the Final Tax Regime, super tax, income and sales tax refunds, further tax, the Point of Sale (POS) system, and the powers of tax field formations.

The representatives also briefed the finance minister on challenges confronting the cotton and edible oil sectors.

Atif Ikram Sheikh presented FPCCI’s budget proposals to the finance minister, describing them as a comprehensive roadmap aimed at addressing Pakistan’s economic challenges and supporting industrial and business growth.

He urged the government to seriously consider the federation’s recommendations and incorporate them into the upcoming federal budget. He also gave a detailed briefing on the proposals contained in the document.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb appreciated the efforts of the FPCCI leadership in preparing the proposals and termed the feedback from the business community highly constructive.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to meaningful consultation with stakeholders and assured the delegation that FPCCI’s recommendations would be carefully considered during the formulation of the federal budget.
