Washington, May 19,2026: California gubernatorial candidate Mohammad Arif strongly condemned the shooting incident at a mosque in the city of San Diego, describing it as an attack on humanity and religious freedom.
According to reports, three people, including a security guard, were killed in the shooting at the Islamic Center in San Diego. The attackers allegedly committed suicide after opening fire inside the mosque.
Reacting to the incident, Mohammad Arif said that targeting places of worship is an unacceptable act and such incidents are aimed at spreading fear and panic within society.
He expressed sympathy with the victims and their families and urged the authorities to bring those responsible to justice without delay.
Mohammad Arif further stated that ensuring complete protection for followers of all religions is the responsibility of the state, adding that effective measures are essential to promote religious harmony and tolerance.
He also appealed to the public to work together for unity, peace, and mutual respect in society.
