Ishaq Dar reviews performance of Pakistan’s missions abroad

Islamabad, May 22, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a committee meeting on Friday to review the performance of Pakistan’s diplomatic missions abroad.

According to an official statement issued by the Foreign Office, the meeting assessed the role of Pakistan’s missions in advancing the country’s diplomatic, consular, and economic priorities.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar appreciated the efforts of Pakistani missions in promoting national interests and strengthening international engagement. He emphasized the need for enhanced coordination between the Foreign Office headquarters and overseas missions to improve effectiveness and ensure better utilization of available resources.

The deputy prime minister also stressed the importance of adopting a more results-oriented diplomatic approach aligned with Pakistan’s foreign policy objectives.

He directed that efforts to strengthen diplomatic outreach, economic engagement, and consular services should be sustained and further enhanced to maximize impact.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and senior officials from the ministries of finance, commerce, cabinet division, and foreign affairs.
