Lahore, May 26,2026: Pakistan cricket’s legendary superfan Chaudhry Abdul Jalil, widely known as “Chacha Cricket,” has announced that the upcoming ODI series against Australia national cricket team will mark his final appearance in cricket stadiums after decades of passionately supporting Pakistan cricket.
The 77-year-old iconic supporter confirmed that the three-match home ODI series, scheduled from May 30 to June 4, would be his farewell due to age-related health concerns.
Pakistan national cricket team will host Australia in the opening ODI at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium before the remaining two matches are played at Gaddafi Stadium.
In an emotional post shared on his official X account, Chacha Cricket requested the Pakistan Cricket Board and chairman Mohsin Naqvi to arrange a memorable farewell during the final ODI in Lahore on June 4.
“4th June Pak vs Aus I’ll be witnessing my last ODI in Qaddafi. I request Chairman Mr Mohsin Naqvi and PCB management to make it a memorable day and end on high note,” he wrote.
He added that he had already contacted PCB officials and was awaiting a positive response.
Chacha Cricket has remained one of the most recognisable and beloved figures in international cricket for nearly four decades.
His journey began in the 1980s in Sharjah, where Pakistan frequently played home series before the return of international cricket to Pakistan. In 1996, he officially became associated with the Pakistan Cricket Board as the national team’s mascot.
Known for his unmatched dedication, he reportedly left a well-paying job in the United Arab Emirates and even sold personal belongings to continue travelling around the world to support Pakistan cricket.
Born on October 8, 1949, in Sialkot, Chaudhry Abdul Jalil became instantly recognisable through his trademark bright green kurta, flowing white beard, and white cap adorned with the crescent and star.
Over the years, Chacha Cricket evolved into a symbol of loyalty, passion, and unwavering support for Pakistan cricket, energising crowds and lifting team morale regardless of match results.
