Islamabad, June 17,2026: Cuban Ambassador Damián Cordero Torres had the honor of meeting with Member of Parliament Syed Mustafa Mehmood, chairman of the Pakistan-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

During the meeting, both representatives discussed current international issues, with Cuba taking center stage on the agenda. The Pakistani lawmaker expressed concern about the current situation facing the Cuban people and received an explanation from the Cuban diplomat regarding the difficult circumstances facing the Cuban nation, resulting from the intensification of the U.S. blockade and its criminal energy blockade. The chairman of the Parliamentary Group advocated for the need to strengthen coordination between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of both countries, in order to improve communication and mutual understanding and to consolidate initiatives that contribute to bilateral relations through parliamentary channels themselves.

The Cuban ambassador took the opportunity to congratulate MP Mustafa Mehmood on Pakistan’s diplomatic commitment to peace.
