Islamabad, June 17, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday received a farewell call from the outgoing Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan, Marilina Armellin, at the Prime Minister’s House.
During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated Ambassador Armellin’s contributions towards strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Italy during her diplomatic tenure in Islamabad.
Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the ambassador’s efforts in promoting cooperation between the two countries across various sectors and enhancing people-to-people and institutional ties.
The prime minister also conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Armellin for her future assignments and professional endeavors, expressing confidence that the friendly relations between Pakistan and Italy would continue to grow in the years ahead.
Pakistan and Italy enjoy cordial bilateral relations, underpinned by cooperation in trade, investment, development, education and cultural exchanges, as well as the presence of a large Pakistani diaspora in Italy.
The meeting concluded with reaffirmation of the importance of further strengthening Pakistan-Italy ties and expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
