Islamabad, June 24, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call on Wednesday from His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Tabuk Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the conversation, Prince Fahd bin Sultan congratulated the Prime Minister on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts that contributed to the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, describing it as a significant achievement in support of regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Saudi dignitary for his warm sentiments and noted that Pakistan’s peace initiatives were aimed at promoting dialogue, stability, and constructive engagement in the region. He acknowledged the support and goodwill extended by brotherly countries, including Saudi Arabia, in advancing these efforts.
The Prime Minister also recalled the longstanding and historic relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the deep-rooted bonds of friendship, cooperation, and mutual trust shared by the two nations.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his gratitude to Mohammed bin Salman for his continued goodwill and support for Pakistan, and highlighted the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The two leaders also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining close ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
At the conclusion of the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended an invitation to Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to visit Pakistan, expressing confidence that such a visit would further enhance bilateral relations and people-to-people contacts between the two friendly countries.
