Islamabad, June 25, 2026: Chairman of the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party and Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, Khakan Waheed Khwaja, has emphasized the need to practically implement the philosophy of Karbala in Pakistan to promote truth, justice, religious harmony and service to humanity.
In his message on the occasion of Ashura, Khwaja said that Muharram-ul-Haram is a month of immense spiritual significance that teaches Muslims to stand firmly for truth and distinguish between right and wrong.
He stated that the life and sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) serve as a timeless example of courage, steadfastness and unwavering commitment to principles. According to him, true success lies in serving humanity and following the teachings and noble character of Imam Hussain (RA).
Highlighting another important lesson from the tragedy of Karbala, Khwaja noted that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) remained devoted to prayer even in the most difficult circumstances and ultimately embraced martyrdom while in a state of prostration.
“If we reflect on the events of Karbala, we learn that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) never abandoned prayer despite facing immense hardship and oppression. By adopting the philosophy of regular prayer and devotion to Allah Almighty, we can better understand the greatness of his sacrifice and mission,” he said.
Khwaja stressed that every citizen should draw inspiration from the message of Karbala by upholding justice, speaking the truth and standing against oppression through peaceful and lawful means.
He further urged that all necessary measures, within the framework of the law, should be taken to safeguard religious freedom and ensure that every individual can practice their faith without fear or discrimination.
Calling for national unity and harmony, he said that divisions based on religion, sect or ideology must not be allowed to weaken society.
“The message of Imam Hussain (RA) is one of unity, sacrifice and service to humanity. Lasting success can only be achieved by following the philosophy of Hussain and the teachings of the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” he concluded.
