Ishaq Dar, Saudi FM discuss regional situation; Prince Faisal plans early visit to Pakistan

Islamabad, June 28, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

According to the Foreign Office, Senator Dar conveyed Pakistan’s heartfelt condolences over the tragic helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia that claimed the lives of 14 people.

He expressed sympathies on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistani people.

Prince Faisal thanked Senator Dar for the message of condolence and appreciated Pakistan’s brotherly gesture of solidarity during the Kingdom’s time of grief.

The two foreign ministers also held an in-depth discussion on recent regional developments and expressed deep concern over the evolving security situation in the Middle East.

During the conversation, Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its diplomatic efforts for the promotion of peace and regional stability in line with the objectives of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Prince Faisal also informed Senator Dar of his intention to visit Pakistan at the earliest on mutually convenient dates. The deputy prime minister welcomed the proposed visit and expressed hope that it would take place soon, reflecting the close and longstanding ties between the two brotherly countries.
