Lahore, July 7, 2026: Pakistan women’s captain Fatima Sana is expected to be available for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka before departing for England to feature in The Hundred 2026, according to media reports on Tuesday.
Sources said the all-rounder is likely to miss Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as she is set to join Birmingham Phoenix after the conclusion of the ODI leg of the tour.
Fatima recently became the first Pakistan woman cricketer to earn a contract in the women’s edition of The Hundred after Birmingham Phoenix signed her in the wildcard draft during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
She filled the franchise’s fourth overseas slot following Lucy Hamilton’s withdrawal by Cricket Australia to manage her workload and is set to receive the tournament’s minimum salary of £15,000, which is roughly Rs5.6 million.
The Hundred will be held from July 21 to August 16, with this year’s edition marking the first season since private investors assumed partial or full control of the franchises following the sale of team stakes last year.
Pakistan Women are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka later this month for three ODIs and three T20Is. The ODI series, to be played on July 23, 25 and 28, will form part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
Fatima is expected to feature in all three ODIs before leaving for England, meaning she will likely miss the T20I series scheduled for July 31, August 2 and August 4.
Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka comes after a disappointing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, in which the side exited in the group stage after winning just one of their five matches. Pakistan suffered defeats to India, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia, with their only win coming against the Netherlands in their final match of the tournament.
