Islamabad, July 7, 2026: Pakistan and Bulgaria on Tuesday held the sixth round of bilateral political consultations in Islamabad, reviewing the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discussing ways to strengthen cooperation in a range of areas of mutual interest.

According to the Foreign Office, the Pakistan delegation was led by Ambassador Ayesha Ali, Additional Secretary (Europe), while the Bulgarian side was headed by Ambassador Petko Doykov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The two sides discussed political engagement, trade and economic cooperation, defence, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges as part of efforts to further deepen bilateral ties.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments and discussed cooperation at multilateral forums, the Foreign Office said, adding that the consultations were held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement and closer bilateral cooperation.

Following the consultations, Ambassador Petko Doykov also called on Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch. During the meeting, the foreign secretary shared Pakistan’s perspective on key regional developments, including its mediation role in the US-Iran conflict.
