Islamabad, July 13, 2026: Pakistan’s Test squad departed from Islamabad on Monday for the West Indies ahead of a two-match ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 series, scheduled to be played from July 25 to August 6.
The national side left from Islamabad International Airport and will travel to the Caribbean via Doha and London before reaching Trinidad and Tobago, where the team will play a four-day warm-up match as part of its preparations.
Before departure, the squad completed an intensive three-day training camp at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and also participated in a two-day scenario-based practice match to fine-tune preparations for the tour.
Pakistan will play the four-day warm-up fixture from July 18 to 21 before the Test series gets underway.
The opening Test will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba from July 25, while the second and final Test will be held at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, concluding on August 6.
The upcoming series marks Pakistan’s first Test tour of the Caribbean since 2021, when the two sides shared the honours in a 1-1 drawn series.
Historically, Pakistan hold a slight advantage over the West Indies in Test cricket. The two teams have met in 54 Tests, with Pakistan winning 21 matches and the West Indies claiming 19 victories, while 14 encounters have ended in draws.
Pakistan head into the series looking to improve their position in the ICC World Test Championship standings. The team currently sits at the bottom of the WTC 2025-27 table, having won one and lost three of its four matches. Pakistan have accumulated four points with a points percentage (PCT) of 8.33.
The touring squad comprises Babar Azam (captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Fazal, Ali Usman, Azan Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Awais Zafar, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Shan Masood and Ubaid Shah.
