Islamabad, July 17,2026: Pakistan and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across all sectors, with a particular focus on trade, investment, defence, industrial collaboration and regional connectivity.
The National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt was celebrated in Islamabad with a grand reception hosted by Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan, at Serena Hotel. Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan attended the event as the chief guest.
Among the distinguished attendees were Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atadjan Movlamov, Acting Dean of the African Group and Ambassador of Algeria Brahim Romani, ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats and other prominent guests.
In his welcome address, Ambassador Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan highlightd the historical significance of Egypt’s National Day, describing it as a symbol of social justice and the restoration of human dignity in his country. He said Egypt continues to move steadily on the path of development and stability.
Referring to Pakistan-Egypt relations as multidimensional, the ambassador said bilateral ties have witnessed significant progress over the past two years, particularly through the exchange of visits by the foreign ministers of both countries. He noted that the political leadership of Pakistan and Egypt remains committed to making the bilateral partnership stronger and more dynamic.
Touching on the evolving situation in the Middle East, the Egyptian envoy said both Pakistan and Egypt believe diplomacy and dialogue are the most effective means of addressing regional and global challenges. He expressed confidence that the two countries could establish a results-oriented strategic partnership in trade, investment and business cooperation.
The ambassador also expressed his appreciation for the warmth, hospitality and goodwill extended by the people of Pakistan during his tenure in Islamabad.
Addressing the gathering, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan spoke in detail about the existing bilateral relationship and the vast potential for future cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt. He conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan to the government and people of Egypt on the occasion of their National Day.
Describing Egypt as one of Pakistan’s key partners in the Arab world, the minister said the two countries have immense potential to expand cooperation in defence, military training and other strategic sectors.
Jam Kamal Khan also announced that Egyptian President H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has accepted Pakistan’s invitation to visit the country, adding that Pakistan looks forward to welcoming him.
Recalling his visit to Cairo for the D-8 Summit, the minister shared that his meetings with Egyptian officials and business leaders reflected a strong mutual desire to transform bilateral understanding into practical cooperation in industry and regional connectivity.
He added that Egyptian companies have expressed keen interest in investing in Pakistan’s real estate, energy and other key economic sectors, underscoring the growing momentum in economic relations between the two countries.
