Islamabad, August 8, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has welcomed the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, describing it as a significant milestone for regional peace, collective security and enhanced cooperation among brotherly nations.
In a statement, the Chairman Senate said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to peace, stability and strategic partnership and would contribute to strengthening unity and cooperation among Muslim countries.
Gilani paid tribute to Pakistan’s political and military leadership for what he described as visionary leadership and sustained diplomatic efforts, saying their dedication had enhanced Pakistan’s standing in the international community and reinforced its image as a responsible and peace-loving country committed to promoting regional and global peace.
The Chairman Senate expressed his best wishes for the success of the agreement and prayed that Almighty Allah bless the historic initiative and grant lasting peace, security and prosperity to the Muslim Ummah.
