Islamabad, August 8, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani met with Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah at his residence to discuss parliamentary affairs, matters of national importance and ways to further strengthen coordination between the two Houses of Parliament.

During the meeting, the leaders exchanged views on institutional coordination and measures to enhance cooperation between the Senate and the National Assembly.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized that close coordination and mutual cooperation between the two Houses were essential for strengthening democratic traditions and ensuring the effective functioning of the parliamentary system.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also underscored the importance of enhanced institutional collaboration to make the legislative process more effective, coordinated and responsive to public expectations.

The meeting also featured an exchange of views on the overall political situation in the country.

The parliamentary leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting national unity, upholding the Constitution, strengthening democratic institutions and maintaining close coordination and mutual respect among constitutional bodies in the national interest.
