Islamabad, August 11, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and extensive property caused by a devastating earthquake in Colombia.
In a statement, Gilani said the Parliament and people of Pakistan stood in solidarity with the people of Colombia in their hour of grief and tragedy.
He said Pakistan shared the sorrow of the Colombian people and was deeply saddened by the loss of human lives and widespread material damage caused by the natural disaster.
The chairman Senate conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families who had lost their loved ones in the earthquake and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
He expressed hope that the Colombian government and relevant authorities would continue relief and rehabilitation efforts effectively and provide all possible assistance and support to those affected by the disaster.
