Islamabad, August 11, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review issues faced by overseas Pakistanis and measures being taken by the government to facilitate the Pakistani diaspora.
The meeting was briefed on various initiatives undertaken by the government, in consultation with prominent overseas Pakistani representatives, to address issues faced by the diaspora, as well as new measures introduced for their facilitation.
Ishaq Dar emphasised that the Pakistani diaspora was making a substantial contribution to the country’s economy through remittances.
He stressed the need to adopt digital technologies to provide a range of government services to overseas Pakistanis, thereby reducing the need for their physical presence.
The deputy prime minister directed the relevant stakeholders to continue efforts to improve services and address the concerns of overseas Pakistanis through coordinated and technology-driven measures.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Secretary of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division and other relevant stakeholders.
