Islamabad, August 12, 2026: Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday, with the two sides reviewing progress in bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on the evolving regional situation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Amiri Moghadam briefed the deputy prime minister on progress under various bilateral institutional mechanisms aimed at strengthening cooperation across a range of sectors following the recent exchange of high-level visits between Pakistan and Iran.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening engagement with Iran, particularly in key priority areas of mutual interest.
The two sides also discussed regional developments and the challenges facing peace and stability in the region.
Dar underscored Pakistan’s position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective means of resolving outstanding issues and achieving lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The meeting underscored the two countries’ resolve to maintain close engagement and strengthen bilateral ties through institutional mechanisms and continued high-level contacts.
