Rawalpindi, August 13, 2026: A high-level Norwegian delegation led by Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, on Thursday.
The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral relations between Pakistan and Norway, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Field Marshal Asim Munir briefed the visiting dignitary on Pakistan’s perspective regarding global peace and regional stability, while underscoring the importance of cooperation and collective efforts to address common security challenges.
Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide appreciated the professional role played by the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation and engagement in the defence and security domains.
The meeting came during Eide’s official visit to Pakistan, aimed at further strengthening longstanding bilateral ties and exploring avenues for expanded cooperation between the two countries.
