Islamabad, Aug 14,2026: U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker has extended warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 79th Independence Day, reaffirming the enduring partnership between the United States and Pakistan.
In a special message, Baker said that on behalf of the government and people of the United States, she extended her warmest congratulations to the people of Pakistan as they celebrated 79 years of independence.
She noted that the United States was among the first countries to recognize Pakistan’s independence and said the two countries had since built an enduring partnership based on a shared vision and an eye toward the future.
Baker said she was particularly excited that 2027 would mark the 80th anniversary of U.S.-Pakistan relations.
Referring to the U.S. “Freedom 250” initiatives, she said the celebrations had highlighted not only America’s journey but also the two countries’ shared commitment to peace, prosperity and innovation.
“Together our nations are working hand-in-hand to build a more prosperous future,” she said.
The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed that the United States remained a dedicated partner in Pakistan’s progress.
“From all of us here at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Pakistan – Yaum-e-Azadi Mubarak!” she concluded.
