Islamabad, August 14, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday received Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the two sides exchanging views on regional developments and matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Dar conveyed condolences over the tragic death of a Chinese mountaineer following an avalanche incident at Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The deputy prime minister assured the Chinese envoy of Pakistan’s full facilitation in the repatriation of the deceased’s remains. Ambassador Jiang appreciated Pakistan’s prompt assistance and support following the incident.
The two sides also discussed regional developments and other issues of mutual interest, reaffirming the close coordination between Pakistan and China.
The Chinese ambassador conveyed warm greetings and congratulations to the people and leadership of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.
He reaffirmed the close and time-tested ties between the two countries, underscoring the enduring friendship and cooperation that continue to underpin Pakistan-China relations.
