Islamabad, August 17, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee on the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme (SAP) on Monday and reviewed various matters related to the programme.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasised the importance of involving local communities in identifying basic infrastructure development schemes to ensure that SAP funds were utilised in the best interests of the people.
He also stressed the need for timely completion of development schemes so that communities could derive maximum benefit from the funds allocated under the programme.
The meeting was attended by the ministers for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Planning and Development, Science and Technology, Communications, and Parliamentary Affairs.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, secretaries of Cabinet, Power, and Housing and Works, as well as representatives of the governments of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also participated in the meeting.
