Islamabad, August 21, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday held talks with Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail in Islamabad, with both sides reaffirming their close and brotherly ties and discussing ways to expand bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and focused on strengthening cooperation in trade and economic relations, mutual legal assistance and people-to-people exchanges.
Ishaq Dar and Saifuddin Nasution also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely towards shared objectives of peace, stability and prosperity.
The meeting brought together senior Pakistani officials from key economic, food security and interior portfolios, reflecting the broad scope of bilateral cooperation under discussion.
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Minister of State for Interior and Narcotics Control Talal Chaudhry attended the meeting.
Federal Secretary for Commerce Jawad Paul, Federal Secretary for National Food Security and Research Amer Ali Ahmed and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present.
The engagement comes amid intensified high-level contacts between Pakistan and Malaysia, with both countries seeking to translate their longstanding political and fraternal ties into stronger economic cooperation, institutional linkages and greater people-to-people interaction.
