Islamabad, August 30, 2026: Two key institutions of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), have formally appreciated Federal Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh for his leadership and support in advancing investment, technology and economic cooperation across the Muslim world.
In separate letters, the heads of COMSTECH and ICCD praised the minister for his proactive engagement, participation in international events and efforts to strengthen institutional and private-sector collaboration among OIC member states.
In his letter, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary expressed appreciation to Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh for his participation and addresses at the Global South Innovation & Investment Summit held from August 3 to 7, 2026, and the International Education Summit & Expo held on August 19 and 20.
Prof. Dr. Choudhary commended the minister for contributing to constructive and forward-looking discussions and sharing insights based on his professional experience. He said Sheikh’s engagement had helped strengthen COMSTECH initiatives focused on science, technology, innovation and international investment.
The COMSTECH chief also noted that the minister’s continued support had contributed to projecting Pakistan’s scientific and technological potential internationally and enhancing the country’s positive image among OIC member and observer states.
He reiterated COMSTECH’s commitment to seeking the minister’s continued guidance and cooperation to promote Pakistan’s scientific, technological and innovation capabilities across the wider OIC community.
In a separate letter, ICCD Secretary General Yousef Hassan Khalawi conveyed his appreciation to Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh for his participation in ICCD events, describing his engagement and hospitality as a reflection of a strong commitment to closer economic cooperation.
Khalawi particularly acknowledged the minister’s participation in ICCD activities and the hospitality extended to him, including a dinner hosted in his honour.
He said that at a time when investment promotion and private-sector facilitation were increasingly important for sustainable economic growth, Sheikh’s stewardship of the Board of Investment demonstrated a commitment to positioning Pakistan as an attractive destination for international investors.
The ICCD secretary general also highlighted the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s economic and commercial ties with Islamic countries, saying recent engagements had established a strong foundation for deeper institutional cooperation.
According to Khalawi, closer collaboration could help accelerate trade, business integration, investment flows and private-sector development across OIC member states.
