Islamabad, August 31, 2026: On the instructions of President Asif Ali Zardari, former Senate Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and President’s Spokesperson Murtaza Solangi visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad on Sunday to convey condolences and solidarity over the loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by massive flooding in the Himalayan country.
The representatives conveyed the President’s and the Pakistani people’s sympathies to the government and people of Nepal following last week’s catastrophic flooding, which caused extensive damage and left a large number of people dead and missing.
The disaster followed landslides and the bursting of a glacier along the China-Nepal border, triggering a powerful surge of water and debris that swept through communities and caused widespread destruction.
Nepalese Ambassador to Pakistan Rita Dhital received the visiting representatives and expressed appreciation for the solidarity and support extended by the government and people of Pakistan to Nepal during the difficult period.
Bokhari and Solangi also recorded messages of condolence and solidarity in the Visitors’ Book at the Embassy of Nepal, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the people of Nepal in the aftermath of the devastating floods.
