Ishaq Dar reviews wheat import process, directs supply to provinces

Islamabad, September 18, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on wheat imports and reviewed measures to stabilise prices.

The deputy prime minister directed the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to ensure that provinces receive wheat quantities according to their requirements.

He also directed PASSCO to supply wheat to the provinces from its stocks in line with the agreed quantities.

The meeting was attended by the ministers for National Food Security and Economic Affairs, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, the deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, secretaries of National Food Security and Commerce, additional chief secretaries of Punjab and Sindh, and senior officials from AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad Capital Territory and relevant federal and provincial departments.
