Islamabad, September 18, 2026: The Rwanda High Commission in Pakistan hosted a press conference on Friday to announce the upcoming visit of a Pakistani business delegation to Kigali for the Rwanda-Pakistan Investment Forum, scheduled to be held from September 23 to 25, 2026.
The press conference was addressed by Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Harerimana Fatou, while Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC), also spoke on the occasion.
The Pakistani delegation comprises representatives of the country’s business and investment community. During the visit, the delegation will hold meetings with Rwandan government institutions, business leaders, investors and private-sector representatives to explore opportunities in trade, investment, joint ventures and business partnerships.
A key milestone of the visit will be the signing of a Rwanda-Pakistan Bilateral Trade Agreement, aimed at strengthening the institutional framework for bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou said the Investment Forum was part of a broader effort to transform Rwanda-Pakistan relations into a stronger partnership in trade, investment, technology, manufacturing and business-to-business cooperation.
She highlighted Rwanda’s position as a gateway to the wider African market and encouraged Pakistani companies to view Rwanda not only as a market but also as a destination for investment, production, joint ventures and regional expansion.
Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan described the Rwanda-Pakistan Investment Forum as an important initiative at a time when Africa, particularly East Africa and Rwanda, is emerging as an increasingly significant destination for global investment.
He highlighted Rwanda’s peace and stability, competitive business environment, skilled workforce and investor-friendly policies, saying these factors offer significant opportunities for Pakistani businesses.
He said the participation of a 15–16-member Pakistani delegation from PAEC would help identify new avenues for trade, investment and employment, including opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled youth.
The Rwanda High Commission expressed confidence that the visit would further strengthen business-to-business engagement and economic cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan while creating new opportunities for investment and mutually beneficial partnerships.
