Islamabad, September 30, 2026: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Authority (NCCIA) has summoned Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan for a second time on October 2 as part of an investigation into alleged dressing-room leaks during the England series.
According to the second notice, the NCCIA has sought Rizwan’s cooperation for the forensic examination and analysis of the mobile phone seized from the national cricketer.
The agency directed the 34-year-old to appear in person before investigators at 3pm on Friday, warning that failure to appear would be treated as an indication that he had nothing to present or state in his defence.
Sources close to Rizwan said the former white-ball captain would appear before the agency at the scheduled time along with his lawyer.
The sources, however, claimed that the second notice did not address Rizwan’s earlier request for written details of the inquiry or his demand for the return of his mobile phone.
They said Rizwan was expected to ask the NCCIA during Friday’s appearance to provide details of the allegations against him, including the claim that his alleged non-cooperation had hindered the investigation.
Earlier this week, NCCIA sources said investigators had contacted Rizwan several times and sought his cooperation in the inquiry but had not received a positive response despite repeated attempts.
According to the sources, investigators were at times unable to reach the cricketer, while on other occasions Rizwan said he would consult his lawyer before responding to the agency.
