Islamabad, October 4, 2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has paid tribute to teachers for their invaluable contribution to society, saying they play a central role in building an educated, responsible and civilized nation.

In a message on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5, the speaker said teachers not only impart knowledge and awareness to young people but also instill in them a sense of national responsibility and civic duties.

He stressed the need to recognize and appreciate teachers’ services, ensure respect for their profession and protect their rights.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said quality education was essential for the country’s bright future and teachers were at the heart of achieving this goal.

He emphasized the need to equip teachers with modern teaching tools and technologies in line with rapid technological developments, while providing them opportunities for professional training, access to research and a conducive working environment with adequate facilities.

A strong education system, he said, could help produce a knowledgeable, skilled and capable workforce, which was vital for Pakistan’s economic and social development.

The NA speaker called for effective measures to address teachers’ concerns, protect their rights and enhance their professional capabilities.

He reaffirmed that Parliament would continue to play its role in protecting teachers’ rights, promoting education and ensuring better educational opportunities for the country’s youth.

In his message, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also paid tribute to teachers, saying they play a vital role in imparting knowledge and nurturing the intellectual and moral foundations of society.

He said recognizing teachers’ contributions and promoting respect for their profession were hallmarks of a civilized and education-oriented society.

The deputy speaker said teachers’ dedication, hard work and guidance were instrumental in shaping the future of the country.
