DRAP Conducts Regulatory Raid at Syringe Manufacturing Premises in Lahore ; Unregistered Syringes Seized and Premises Sealed

Islamabad, 08 October 2026:(Sub News)The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has taken regulatory action against a syringe manufacturing premises in Lahore following a raid conducted by the DRAP Lahore Field Office.
The raid was conducted by Ms. Maham Misbah, Federal Drug Inspector, Lahore, along with the DRAP team, including Dr. Zia Husnain, Additional Director, and Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Deputy Director, upon the directions of Dr. Obaidullah Malik, Chief Executive Officer, DRAP and Mr. Zeeshan Nazir Bajar, Director, Quality Assurance & Laboratory Testing, DRAP.
During the inspection, the premises was found unlicensed & involved in the manufacturing and packaging of syringes without registration and in the absence of qualified persons. A large quantity of unregistered 3ml and 5ml syringes was recovered from the premises and seized by the DRAP team. The manufacturing premises was subsequently sealed as a regulatory measure.
The action forms part of DRAP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight of medical devices and to prevent the manufacture and supply of spurious/falsified products in the market. DRAP continues to undertake inspections and enforcement actions to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and to safeguard the quality, safety and performance of medical devices available to the public.
