China, Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD, October 8, 2026(Sub News) Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, accompanied by a delegation from the Chinese Embassy, called on former Punjab Chief Minister and Member of the National Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on Pakistan-China bilateral relations, the regional situation, and opportunities to further strengthen economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Hamza Shehbaz Sharif felicitated China on the occasion of its 77th National Day and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the One-China policy. He appreciated China’s longstanding friendship and continued support for Pakistan.

The two sides also discussed ways to promote bilateral trade and investment, particularly through enhanced cooperation under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong appreciated Hamza Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts toward further strengthening Pakistan-China relations. Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and continue consultations on matters of mutual interest.

Chinese Embassy Minister Counsellor Xu Hongtian and Prime Minister’s Legal Adviser Ali Raza Shah were also present during the meeting.
