Islamabad, October 10,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday chaired an inter-ministerial meeting to review preparations for the upcoming 8th Session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting reviewed the proposed agenda, bilateral agreements and administrative arrangements for the session, which will be co-chaired by the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Pakistan and the foreign minister of Oman.
The JMC will focus on expanding cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, industry, agriculture, finance, oil and gas, labour, consular affairs, security, defence, climate change, civil aviation, education, media and culture.
Addressing the meeting, Dar underscored the importance of the JMC in strengthening bilateral relations and directed all stakeholders to ensure comprehensive preparations and effective follow-up to achieve tangible outcomes.
The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa; the secretaries of the Economic Affairs Division, Interior and Maritime Affairs; Pakistan’s ambassador to Oman; and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries.
