Islamabad, October 15,2026: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 to October 31, providing taxpayers an additional 16 days to submit their returns.

According to an official circular, the extension applies to taxpayers whose original filing deadline was September 30 and who were previously given an extension until October 15.

Under Circular No. 04 of 2026-27, issued by the FBR’s Inland Revenue wing, the deadline has been extended under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The FBR said the decision followed requests from various trade bodies and bar associations seeking additional time to file income tax returns.

The revenue authority had earlier extended the deadline from September 30 to October 15 through Circular No. 3 of 2026-27, issued on September 30, 2026.
