Islamabad, October 19,2026: Portugal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Paulo Domingues, has highlighted the role of FC Porto’s Dragon Force Academy in Sialkot in strengthening sports cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Speaking at the headquarters of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the Portuguese ambassador underscored the academy’s potential to nurture young football talent and promote professional training through its collaboration with Forward Sports.

He said sports served as an effective bridge between nations, bringing people closer and creating opportunities for cultural exchange, skills development and mutual cooperation.

The Dragon Force Academy offers young players an opportunity to develop their football skills through professional training while fostering stronger connections between Pakistan and Portugal.

Ambassador Domingues also appreciated the SIFC’s role and support in facilitating initiatives aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation and opening new avenues for collaboration between the two countries.

He emphasized that sports initiatives could complement broader diplomatic and economic engagement, contributing to stronger relations at the people-to-people level.

The establishment of the Dragon Force Academy in Sialkot highlights the potential for further cooperation in football development, professional training and youth engagement, while reinforcing the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Portugal.
