Islamabad, October 28,2026: Ten Pakistani businesses developing climate-friendly solutions are seeking a combined $51 million in investment over the next 12 months, following specialised technical and financial support from the UK government.

The businesses are working on solutions in clean energy, transport, construction, agriculture and waste management. With support from the UK-funded Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Pakistan programme, they have strengthened their investment proposals and presented them to investors, banks and development finance institutions in Karachi.

The two-day CFA Pakistan Investor Roadshow, held on October 27 and 28, connected the businesses with potential investors and explored ways to mobilise private finance for climate projects in Pakistan.

Together, the ten businesses have a three-year investment pipeline worth $120 million across five sectors: agriculture and land use, waste and the circular economy, clean energy, building and construction, and electric mobility.

Implemented by DAI on behalf of the UK government, CFA Pakistan provided the participating businesses with technical and financial advice, alongside support on gender equality and social inclusion, to help prepare them for investment.

The roadshow also brought together government officials, investors and industry representatives to discuss policy, regulatory and market barriers to private investment in climate solutions.

Alison Blackburne, British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, said the UK’s climate partnership with Pakistan increasingly focused on mobilising climate finance, strengthening adaptation and resilience, and supporting the policy and institutional systems needed to implement climate initiatives.

She said the UK-Pakistan Green Compact, signed with the Government of Pakistan in December 2025, provided a broader framework for cooperation on climate action, clean energy, finance, policy dialogue, private investment, green skills and international cooperation.

Speaking on behalf of the Sindh government, Local Government and Housing and Town Planning Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working with the private sector and development partners to mobilise funding for climate action.

He said climate change was not merely an environmental issue for Pakistan but also an economic and development challenge affecting infrastructure, agriculture, cities, energy systems and people’s livelihoods.

He emphasised that the government’s role increasingly involved creating conditions in which private capital could invest with confidence.

Vardah Malik, Team Lead of CFA Pakistan, said the roadshow aimed to connect investment-ready Pakistani climate businesses with investors capable of financing their projects and turning discussions into lasting partnerships.

The 2026 cohort comprises businesses offering solutions across five sectors.

In agriculture and land use, A.S. Enterprises is converting agricultural stubble into bio-coal, while TrashIt produces microbe-enriched compost from organic waste and crop residues.

In waste management and the circular economy, Sahara Recycling is developing integrated municipal solid waste recycling parks, while Waste Busters JV EnterTech uses Black Soldier Fly technology for organic waste management.

The clean energy cohort includes Biowaste Energy Ventures Ltd, which is developing a biomethane and waste-to-energy platform; GoSeedIT, which offers pay-as-you-go solar solutions for underserved mid-market customers; and BioEnergy Solution Pvt. Ltd, which produces biomass fuel pellets from agricultural and organic waste.

In building and construction, EcoEdge AI provides sensor- and artificial intelligence-based building energy optimisation. In electric mobility, BusCaro operates an urban mobility platform connecting commuters with transport providers, while Daewoo Express is pursuing electric bus fleets and charging infrastructure.

Since 2022, the UK-funded programme has supported 22 projects in Pakistan and helped mobilise $40 million in investment for climate initiatives.

If the latest cohort secures the targeted funding, the businesses could help reduce pollution, create jobs, improve waste management and expand access to cleaner energy and transport solutions.
