Islamabad, January 6, 2025: The nation solemnly commemorates the 11th death anniversary of Aitzaz Hassan, a 15-year-old student who courageously gave his life to prevent a suicide bomber from attacking his school in Hangu.

On January 6, 2014, Hassan, a ninth-grade student, demonstrated extraordinary bravery when he confronted a suicide bomber attempting to enter his school. By running towards the attacker and grappling with him, Hassan successfully stopped the bomber from reaching the school. Tragically, the explosives detonated during the struggle, killing both Hassan and the terrorist. His selfless act saved the lives of hundreds of students.

Hassan’s heroism earned him posthumous recognition and a national gallantry award, cementing his legacy as a symbol of courage and sacrifice.
