Islamabad, January 10, 2025: The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Tohir, delivered a keynote address at the International Seminar on “Regional Trade and Connectivity: Discovering New Horizons & Opportunities”. The event was organized by the Institute for Strategic Studies, Research, and Analysis (ISSRA) at the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad.

In his address, Ambassador Tohir underscored the critical role of regional trade and connectivity in fostering economic development across the region. Highlighting Tajikistan’s initiatives, he spoke about the country’s strides in enhancing its trade environment through digital transformation and significant investments in transportation infrastructure.

The Ambassador also called for collaborative efforts among regional countries to overcome challenges hindering trade and connectivity. He emphasized the need for simplifying customs procedures, reducing trade barriers, and improving transportation networks, which he said could significantly boost trade volumes, attract foreign investments, and generate employment opportunities.

The seminar brought together prominent business leaders, government officials, and diplomats from across the region. It served as a dynamic platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, discuss strategies to enhance regional trade, and explore new opportunities for economic cooperation.

The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic ties with Pakistan and fostering greater regional integration through enhanced trade and connectivity initiatives.
