Islamabad, January 11, 2025: Pakistan’s squash legend Jahangir Khan has been named among the top 50 athletes in the world, joining the ranks of iconic figures such as boxing legend Muhammad Ali and cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
This prestigious list, compiled by Australian newspaper, reflects the views of sports reporters from around the globe.
Jahangir Khan, ranked 25th among the greatest athletes, was celebrated by the newspaper as an invincible force in his era. He dominated squash with 10 consecutive British Open titles and six World Championships, maintaining an unbeaten streak of 555 matches over five years.
Muhammad Ali, the legendary boxer, is ranked 5th, while Sachin Tendulkar, the only Indian athlete on the list, occupies the 37th spot.
The top four positions in the list are claimed by basketball icon Michael Jordan (1st), sprinter Usain Bolt (2nd), tennis star Serena Williams (3rd), and cricket legend Don Bradman (4th).
The list also features other global sports greats, including Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Simone Biles, and Michael Phelps.
