Karachi, January 26, 2025: Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Rashid Mahmood Langrial, announced significant advancements in Pakistan Customs’ modernization efforts during a ceremony marking International Customs Day 2025 at the Customs House, Karachi.

Key achievements highlighted included the successful implementation of the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA) System. These initiatives have streamlined trade processes, enhanced transparency, and reduced clearance times for export goods, contributing to a notable increase in revenue.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chairman emphasized the importance of the World Customs Organization’s 2025 theme, “Customs Delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security, and Prosperity.” He noted that the theme aligns perfectly with Pakistan Customs’ vision of becoming a modern and dynamic institution.

Langrial also shared positive feedback from Karachi’s trading community, who have welcomed the FCA System for its efficiency and ease of use. The Chairman hoisted the national flag, paid homage at the Martyrs’ Monument, and distributed certificates of appreciation to outstanding customs officials.

Collector Customs Enforcement Karachi, Moinuddin Wani, expressed gratitude to the Chairman and other dignitaries, including Member Customs Operations Junaid Jalil, for their participation. Junaid Jalil reiterated Pakistan Customs’ commitment to combating smuggling, stabilizing the economy, and facilitating business activities across the nation.

The ceremony saw attendance from high-profile guests, including consular representatives from Oman, Indonesia, Kuwait, Russia, and the UAE, alongside chief collectors, law enforcement officials, and business leaders.

International Customs Day, celebrated globally on January 26, was marked by similar events across Pakistan’s customs collectorates, with the Karachi ceremony serving as the centerpiece.
