Karachi, September 7, 2024-Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori met with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Governor’s House to discuss bilateral relations, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and Chinese investments in Sindh. Governor Tessori reaffirmed the strong bond between Pakistan and China, describing their friendship as “higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the sea.” He emphasized the value of learning from China’s development model, particularly highlighting the Karachi Circular Railway project under CPEC as a major advancement for the region.
Governor Tessori also stressed that the province’s stable security situation has fostered an ideal environment for foreign investment, particularly in the IT sector, where China’s support is expected to accelerate development.
Ambassador Zaidong expressed keen interest in the renewable energy sector, revealing that the Chinese Hexing Group plans to invest in manufacturing inverters and batteries, making it the first Chinese company to venture into this space in Pakistan.
During the visit, Governor Tessori presented the ambassador with a Jinnah cap and shawl, and Ambassador Zaidong participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the Governor’s House.
