Islamabad, January 31, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a salary increase for members of Parliament, following recommendations from the Finance Committee. The new salaries will be effective from January, with each member set to receive a monthly salary of Rs519,000.
However, the salary increase does not extend to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. Both officials will continue to receive their current monthly salary of Rs218,000. In response to inquiries, the Speaker’s office clarified that the Finance Committee does not have the authority to alter the salaries of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
