Islamabad, February 17, 2025: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, has emphasized Pakistan’s potential to expand exports to Saudi Arabia, particularly in the skilled labor sector, as the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 drives increased demand for a diverse workforce.

In an interview with Arab News during the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies, Aurangzeb highlighted Saudi Arabia’s regional economic influence, noting that Pakistan sees the Kingdom’s rapid progress under Vision 2030 as a model for its own structural reforms.

“Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share one of the strongest partnerships. As we undertake our own economic reforms on the back of macroeconomic stability, there’s much to learn from the Kingdom’s transformation,” he said.

Aurangzeb praised Saudi Arabia for exceeding its Vision 2030 targets and stressed the importance of collaboration between the two nations in trade, investment, and economic development.

The minister also welcomed increased Saudi investments in Pakistan, particularly in business-to-business (B2B) ventures. He highlighted Saudi Aramco’s entry into Pakistan’s downstream petroleum industry as a significant milestone and mentioned ongoing discussions on government-to-government (G2G) agreements.

“Saudi investments in Pakistan are already growing, and with Aramco’s recent move into the downstream sector, we expect even more productive collaborations in the near future,” Aurangzeb noted.

He further acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s continued financial support, particularly in facilitating Pakistan’s engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

On the sidelines of the Emerging Markets Conference 2025 in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, Aurangzeb participated in discussions with finance, economic, and development ministers from the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and other GCC nations.

The discussions focused on regional economic cooperation, financial policies, and sustainable development strategies, with leaders exchanging views on shared economic goals and investment opportunities.

Pakistan remains committed to leveraging its longstanding relationship with Saudi Arabia to enhance economic cooperation and align its export and labor market strategies with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 roadmap.
