Lahore, February 19, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz asserted on Wednesday that the province is financing its development projects independently, without seeking funds from the federal government.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of electric buses in Lahore, she emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to providing relief to the public through sustainable initiatives.

CM Maryam announced that the fares for electric buses would be the lowest in the country, ranging between Rs20 and Rs35. She highlighted that the project would benefit nearly 17,000 commuters daily, with students and differently abled individuals receiving free travel cards.

To enhance passenger safety, she added that CCTV cameras have been installed in the buses to prevent harassment, particularly against women passengers.

Taking aim at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder, Imran Khan, CM Maryam claimed that during their tenure, bribery was necessary to get official matters resolved at the Chief Minister’s Office.

She concluded by reaffirming her resolve not to forgive those responsible for political chaos and economic instability in the country.
