Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, has pledged to restore the traditional Jirga system while removing unnecessary check posts across the province.
Addressing an event in Peshawar, the Chief Minister acknowledged that the public has been inconvenienced by numerous check posts, and as a result, those deemed unnecessary will be dismantled.
Gandapur emphasized that the government is returning power to the people, as they entrusted them with authority through their votes. He further mentioned that all district-level recruitment will be based on local domicile, ensuring fairness. According to him, real democracy is about maintaining a strong connection between the people and the government.
He also commented on the Afghan Consul General’s refusal to stand during the national anthem, attributing it to the music.
