Rawalpindi, December 4, 2024- Security forces eliminated five terrorists and injured two others during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Wednesday.
The operation was carried out following reports of terrorist activity in the district. “On December 4, 2024, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District, targeting khwarij (terrorists). During the operation, our troops effectively engaged the terrorists, neutralizing five and injuring two,” stated the ISPR.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for their successful operation. “The government is committed to eradicating terrorism from Pakistan,” the Prime Minister said in a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
As of October 2024, security forces have conducted 7,984 intelligence-based operations across the country, resulting in the elimination of 206 terrorists, according to a recent briefing at the National Action Plan Coordination Committee meeting in Islamabad.
