Islamabad, November 14, 2024 — The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy has arrived in Islamabad from Dubai, marking the start of Pakistan’s preparations to host the prestigious tournament. The trophy tour will officially commence on November 16 in the stunning Skardu Valley, from where it will journey through various cities slated to host Champions Trophy matches.
As part of a symbolic highlight, the trophy will be showcased at the K2 Base Camp following its display in Skardu. The tour, designed to build excitement across Pakistan, will conclude on November 24 and is a key promotional effort by the ICC ahead of the tournament’s scheduled dates from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
Notably, this year’s trophy tour is taking place without an official tournament schedule—a first in ICC history. Schedules for major ICC events, such as the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, were typically announced several months prior. However, delays in the Champions Trophy schedule have stemmed from India’s stance against playing in Pakistan, creating logistical challenges for the ICC.
Originally, the tournament schedule was expected on November 11 in Lahore, with a proposal for all India matches to be hosted there. However, the delay has added uncertainty, underscoring diplomatic tensions around the event.
